In the same vein, the implications of Article 3 of the ICESCR vis-à-vis Article 15 are worth exploring. In light of the approach taken by the CEDAW, interesting developments in this area could also come 48 from the application of Article 5 of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women. The fact that a large number of states have ratified the Optional Protocol to the Convention provides an additional basis for examining the potential of this provision.
