Thank you, Mr. President, my name is Sana Ali from Sinjar district of Mosul, Iraq. It was my
dream to graduate from the university as a student and serve my country and humanity before
me and my family of parents, 3 brothers and 4 sisters fell in the hands of the terrorist
organization "Daesh" because of our belonging to The Yezidi religion.
I am here at the United Nations to give my testimony, which expresses the tragedies and
suffering of a people subjected to genocide. My story is an example of the thousands of true
stories of women and girls who are still in the grip of the Terrorists of the Islamic Caliphate I
may be a little lucky because I survived and Thanks to the German government that brought us
to our second country.
Dear Audience, after "Daesh" has invaded Sanjar on 3/08/2014 and desecrated the Yezidi,
Christian, Shabak and Alkakaiya areas in the Nineveh plain later, killing the Yezidi men in cold
blood and insulting women and children. I was among them. I remained in the grip of a group of
monsters. Their ideology is murder, violence and sex for four months. I ran away with my older
sister. We lost contact with my family so far and I do not know anything about them
We, the Yazid girls and women, and a few Shia women, have been exposed to selling, buying in
the market of slavery and to " forced Islamization" by the hands on the terrorists of "Daesh" who
came from different countries and from different nationalities. They forced us to wear hijab,
khimar, niqab, prayer and reading the Qur'an, as well as beatings and using all physical and
psychological means of violence Slavery and humiliation, which were considered daily violations
against us as well as systematic rape and sexual assault by these armed men who practiced with
us the various kinds of attacks and the most horrible categories of inhuman practices that Which
do not come to your mind, and even It is absorbed by the human mind
Finally
I appeal to the international missions, representatives of minorities in the world, international
human rights organizations, all members of this international forum and everyone who hears me.
I appeal to the human conscience to act and make every effort to make the world aware of our
humanitarian cause, which embodies the suffering and suffering of every oppressed in any
country , I call on the United Nations and the entire free world to pay greater attention to this
issue by freeing Yezidi women and children and to recognize genocide, mass enslavement and
trafficking in human beings as a crime of genocide and justice through the International Criminal
Court, while providing safe areas conditional on an international protection so that Yezidis,
Christians and other minorities can return to their homes after reconstructing it and live in peace
and security.
