Excellencies, distinguished delegates, I speak on behalf of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community UK
regarding the situation of Ahmadiyya Muslims in Pakistan and Bangladesh. The Ahmadiyya Muslim
Community is a peace-loving, patriotic, hard-working community whose members serve their
country with distinction. In Pakistan, for example, it has contributed significantly to the country's
development in education, science, public service, and law. Pakistan's first foreign minister, Sir
Mohammed Zafrullah Khan, was an Ahmadi Muslim who also served as president of the United
Nations General Assembly. Pakistan's first Nobel laureate, Dr. Abdus Salam, was an Ahmadi Muslim
who was a former advisor to the President of Pakistan. Professor Ahmadi Mia is an Ahmadi Muslim
and a distinguished international economist. Yet, these shining examples and many others are being
systematically erased from national life and the country's books. history books, because of statesponsored persecution and explicit anti- Ahmadi laws that criminalize Ahmadi Muslims for practicing
their Islamic faith. The denial of freedom of religion that has seen 4 Ahmadi Muslims murdered in
2025, over 50 Ahmadi Muslim mosques attacked since 2023, and more than 421 Ahmadi Muslim
graves desecrated since 2021, shows that the country is not only seeking to erase critical contributors
from the past, but also blocking talented individuals from reaching their potential and serving the
country in the future. And now we see that hatred and persecution seeking to do the same in
Bangladesh, where violence and a mass protest just this month in Dhaka called for Ahmadi Muslims
to be declared non-Muslim there too. We urge this forum that silencing one minority silences all
minorities and impoverishes society. Ahmadi Muslims seek not special treatment, but the right to
contribute fully and freely as equal citizens. The state-sponsored persecution must end now. Thank
