She discusses the emergence of intersectionality as a concept and framework and provides some definitional elements. She then provides an overview of the international human rights law framework, with a particular focus on the obligations of States to prevent and address multiple and intersectional discrimination. She draws attention to some manifestations of intersectional discrimination in countries and regions, drawing on the submissions that she received in response to her public call for information to inform the report. She examines key elements of an intersectional approach and provides analysis of some related issues.
