IDHRV-ARMIL Madame Chair, excellencies, distinguished delegates, ladies and gentlemen. I am speaking today on behalf of the Institute for the Documentation of Human Rights Violations against Religious Minorities in the Levant. To highlight the urgent situation of minority Syrian refugees, who are detained in Turkiye at the [inaudible] Removal Center. These individuals fled Syria to escape armed conflict, sectarian violence, and targeted persecution, seeking safety and protection. Instead of protection, they face inhuman and degrading conditions, in violation of international law. Many are held in overcrowded rooms, often alongside extremist detainees. Subjected to sectarian threats, harassment, and psychological pressure. They are coerced to sign voluntary return documents, exposing them to the risk of refoulement. A clear violation of Article 33 of the 1951 Refugee Convention. Denial of care, food, sanitation and exposure breaches CAT Article 16 and ICCPR Article 7 and 10. Our documentation also shows that visitors attempting humanitarian support face obstruction and intimidation. Children and families wait for hours under harsh conditions, and access to legal counsel and communication is inconsistent. [CUT OFF BY CHAIR]
