⁃ The issues of teaching native languages and preserving them in the educational sphere alarm and worry the Russian public. Round tables on this subject were held in the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, and a “hot line” was opened. On the initiative of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, the general public joined the development of the concept of teaching native languages and literature. The Civic Chamber rightly believes that the Russian education has accumulated a huge and unique experience in teaching and supporting native languages and literature. Therefore, it must be preserved and multiplied, taking into account the capabilities of the modern technological basis of teaching, and the centuries-old experience of studying native languages and literature in Russian schools. Non-governmental organizations should promote the value of native languages, increase their attractiveness, especially for the younger generation, and increase the linguistic culture. All of this affects the freedom to choose one’s native language and the scope of its use. The activities of national-cultural non-governmental organizations in this area, with the support of recognized experts and legal culture, leaves much to be desired. The issue of increasing the effectiveness of communication channels on the issue of education in and teaching of minority languages between the public and state and municipal bodies is quite relevant. The successful implementation of state policies in the field of education in and teaching of minority languages in modern Russia will contribute to the strengthening of ethnocultural and linguistic diversity, national harmony and a common Russian identity, and the unity of the multinational people of Russia.
