organization submitting the representation is not
asked to appear before the committee.
• The Governing Body also decides whether the representation and any government reply should be published, and notifies the organization and the government concerned of its decision. Generally, most representations are published and copies are available
from the ILO web page.57
• Once the tripartite committee concludes its work, the
Committee of Experts follows up on the Conclusions
and Recommendations.
• While a representation is in progress, regular work on
supervising the application of this particular Convention in the country concerned is suspended, at least on
the question being examined in the representation.
• Once the Article 24 procedure is completed, the regular supervisory bodies resume their work.

The ILO acknowledges receipt, informs the
government concerned and brings the matter
before the Governing Body.
If the representation involves freedom of
association, it is referred to the Governing
Body’s Committee on Freedom of Association.
