Dr Réka Brigitta Szaniszló is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of
the University of Szeged (SZTE), Hungary, and an international expert at the university’s
Francophone University Centre. She teaches across several programmes in Hungarian,
English, and French, focusing on geopolitics, intercultural communication, and the analysis of
international disputes. Her academic and professional work is driven by a commitment to human
rights, minority protection, and social responsibility in international relations. She earned her
BA and MA in International Studies with honours, and completed her PhD summa cum laude in
2024, researching how diasporas formed through international student migration influence inter state relations, with a special focus on the Vietnamese community in Hungary. Dr Szaniszló’s
current research explores human rights violations in the digital space, particularly on social
media platforms, where issues of free expression, discrimination, and acco untability
increasingly intersect. She is passionate about understanding how digital governance
frameworks can both protect and endanger vulnerable communities online. She has presented
her work at international conferences such as the ECPR Annual Conference, the Nordic
Migration Conference, and Fórum de Migrações in Rio de Janeiro, and has contributed to
several international collaborations, including IMISCOE, EUGLOH, and MITRA. Since 2025, Dr
Szaniszló has been a member of the Minority Rights Solidarity Network, where she seeks to
strengthen the dialogue between academia and advocacy in the defence of minority rights .
