All countries should and must respect the basic human rights of minorities, such
as the right to life, food security, medical safety, and the right to education.
Each country has its own history, culture and traditions, and the level of
development varies greatly from country to country. Therefore, the causes of
minority conflicts are diverse. Some conflicts are caused by history, some by
culture, some by religion, and some are deliberately created for political
purposes or ideological differences. In general, the root causes of these conflicts
are complex and intertwined. Resolving these issues will take time and wisdom.
We should find ways to resolve conflicts and mitigate them, rather than
deliberately creating minority problems. Some false conflicts based on lies and
inaccuracies, fabricated to achieve certain political purposes, have increasingly
become a new source of minority conflicts today, and we must pay attention to
and be vigilant about this.
I was born in Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, PRC. In this city of 400 million people,
there are 36 ethnic minorities, including Han, Hui, Mongolian, and Zhuang, living
here. Whether at school or at work, people of different ethnic groups live
together in great friendship and harmony. All ethnic groups are treated equally,
