Florencio Venté is a minority rights advocate and social entrepreneur, with a strong focus on civic
engagement and meaningful community participation in inclusive policy for ethnic, cultural, and
social minorities, as well as other underrepresented groups.
He is the former Co-director of the Migration Youth and Children Platform, the world’s largest
migrant youth network, advocating for over 4,000 youth organizations worldwide to influence
international policymaking. As part of the UN Major Group for Children and Youth, he supported
constituencies working on displacement, youth in humanitarian action, peace and security, and
minority groups. His contributions span key processes such as the Permanent Forum on People of
African Descent, UNGA, the High-Level Political Forum, and the ECOSOC Humanitarian Segment.
Florencio has led initiatives with organizations such as UNICEF, promoting learning and earning
opportunities for youth affected by displacement. He founded Glocals, an initiative that connects
diverse communities through social dialogue to combat discrimination. At just 12 years old, he
began his civic engagement journey, inspired by personal experiences. He has served on several
councils in Colombia and Brazil, contributing to national and local policies.
Currently pursuing a Master’s in Social Integration, his research focuses on ethnic and minority
entrepreneurship as a driver of social cohesion, economic inclusion, and intercultural relations. He
holds a bachelor’s degree in international business and has completed postgraduate studies in
innovation, peacebuilding, conflict resolution, migration, and minority rights.
Florencio was recognized as one of the Global Most Influential People of African Descent (MIPAD)
Uner 40 Edition 2025 and is a fellow of programs by Harvard Aspire Institute, Western Union
Foundation, Policy Center for the New South, ISPI, and the Black Diplomats Academy.
