E/2013/43 E/C.19/2013/25 resources; extractive industries and the related right to free, prior and informed consent; the economic, social and cultural rights of indigenous peoples; and the need to strengthen the participation of indigenous peoples in United Nations mechanisms and the mechanism themselves, as well as the need for immediate, effective and comprehensive implementation of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples by Member States and the United Nations system with the full participation of indigenous peoples. The Forum is mindful that dialogue will continue among and between indigenous peoples and Member States in preparation for the World Conference. 87. The Permanent Forum recommends that the United Nations system strengthen existing coordination mechanisms at the country level, and in partnership with indigenous peoples and other relevant entities and national partners, in order to implement the outcomes of the World Conference. The Forum offers its support in this regard. 88. The Permanent Forum invites all organizations of the United Nations system and other multilateral organizations, including the Bretton Woods institutions and international and regional financial institutions, to contribute to the implementation of the outcomes of the World Conference and to integrate them into their programmes of work, as appropriate and in accordance with their respective mandates, in full cooperation with indigenous peoples at the national, subregional, regional and global levels. 89. The Permanent Forum calls upon Member States, guided by the spirit of solidarity with indigenous peoples and consistent with their capabilities, to provide support for the effective implementation of the outcomes of the World Conference in mutually agreed areas of cooperation within the framework of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. 90. The Permanent Forum recommends that the President of the sixty-eighth session of the General Assembly, in the selection of co-chairs and other members of the two plenary meetings, the three interactive round-table discussions and the one interactive panel discussion during the World Conference, in addition to the informal interactive hearing to be held before June 2014, apply the criteria of regional representation of indigenous peoples; gender balance; inclusion of indigenous elders and youth; and inclusion of indigenous persons with disabilities. The Forum offers its assistance in identifying potential co-chairs and other members. Future work 91. The Permanent Forum recommends that, in view of the 2015 deadline for the attainment of the Millennium Development Goals, Member States and the United Nations system make use of the experiences and lessons learned and capture the priorities for development and well-being of indigenous peoples and include indigenous peoples in the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Goals. 92. The Permanent Forum welcomes the efforts of UNDP to endorse the political participation of indigenous peoples in Latin America and the Caribbean and its support in the preparation of the report on democracy and indigenous peoples in the region.
