Methods of work of the Forum with the United
Nations system
1.
The Forum considered item 5 of its agenda at its 3rd, 4th and 19th meetings,
on 13 and 23 May 2003.
2.
At its 3rd meeting, on 13 May, the Forum engaged in an interactive dialogue.
The following United Nations agencies made introductory statements and responded
to questions raised by members of the Forum: the ILO; World Bank; WHO and
UNICEF.

At the same meeting, the following members of the Forum made interventions:
Otilia Lux de Coti, Yuji Iwasawa, Antonio Jacanamijoy, Wilton Littlechild, Wayne
Lord, Marcos Matias Alonso, Ida Nicolaisen, Qin Xiaomei, Zinaida
Strogalschikova, Parshuram Tamang, Mililani Trask and Fortunato Turpo
Choquehuanca.

At its 4th meeting, on 13 May, the Forum continued its discussion on item 5
and heard statements by the following members of the Forum: Njuma Ekundanayo,
Ayitegan Kouevi, Wilton Littlechild, Wayne Lord, Marcos Matias Alonso, Ida
Nicolaisen, Mililani Trask and Fortunato Turpo Choquehuanca.

At the same meeting, statements were made by the observers for the following

Action taken by the Forum

At its 19th meeting, on 23 May, the Forum adopted a number of
recommendations proposed under item 5 (E/C.19/2003/L.6 and L.12) (see chap. I,
sect. B, paras. ___), and took note of the Chairperson’s summaries of the discussion
on the item (E/C.19/2003/L.2/Add.1 and L.2/Add.2/Corr.1).
