The Cultural Center of Jurist Lady Amin (CCJLA) Madam Chair, in the name of God, the Cultural Center of Jurist Lady Amin wishes to highlight the significant and over-overlooked achievements of the Islamic Republic of Iran in fostering a society where officially recognized religious minorities not only reside, but also actively participate in national life. Throughout the country, synagogues, churches, and Zoroastrian fire temples operate freely, and their holy days are publicly observed. Iran's constitutional framework provides a structured model for religious coexistence. Zoroastrian Jews and Christians are explicitly recognized, granting them the freedom to perform their religious rites, establish their own schools, and manage their personal affairs in accordance with their own religious laws. This coexistence is a cornerstone of Iran's policy, ensuring these ancient communities can preserve their unique cultural and religious identities. A paramount achievement is the guaranteed political representation for these communities. The right to elect their own representatives to the Iranian parliament represent a powerful form of political inclusion, ensuring their voices are directly heard in the national legislature. This stands as a tangible commitment to their place within Iran's social fabric. We believe that Iran's model, rooted in its constitutional principle and Islamic values, offers a valuable example of managed religious diversity. We encourage this forum to consider such national models with their requirements, and call for a constructive dialogue that acknowledges these genuine achievements in protecting minority rights.
