The subject of my speech is "the role of NGOs in educating and protecting social networks against harms
such as spreading hatred against minorities." In the Islamic Republic of Iran, for more than 24 years, we
have officially witnessed the extensive activity of non-governmental organizations and NGOs. The
remarkable response of various popular groups, youth experts, identity groups, minorities, etc., to the
capacity and power of NGOs in Iran has been very significant. Also, since then, we have witnessed the
regional and international activities of these NGOs in various fields, including in relation to ethnicities,
minorities, religions, etc. The dominance of social and virtual networks over relationships has made the
use of this opportunity a priority for NGOs to communicate and provide network. In this regard, one of
the most important issues in Iran is the intersection of the NGOs and social networks, in relation to
increasing interaction, cooperation and friendship between different minority groups with other groups
in society.
Fortunately, due to this interaction, we see in multicultural Iran the least violent literature produced in
relation to minorities compared to other multicultural countries. In some cases where mostly
negligently, sentences or caricatures are published in the media against one of the minority groups, we
see other groups and NGOs immediately enter and pave the way for softening the atmosphere, detente
and ambiguity to vanish the misunderstanding. As a result, I emphasize here that we use our experience
in Iran and the accumulation and cooperation of non-governmental groups and social networks to
reduce hatred and the literature of violence against minorities.
