The Special Rapporteur welcomes information regarding coordination between governmental structures in order to maximize efforts on the issue of equality and non-discrimination and mainstream anti-discrimination policies in public sectors. He encourages such coordinated efforts and recommends inclusion of a variety of actors, such as civil society actors, national human rights institutions and the media. 90. Finally, the Special Rapporteur wishes to stress the positive role played by the media in combating the spread of extremist ideas, in particular in combating stereotypes, promoting a culture of tolerance and playing an integrative role by providing space for ethnic minorities to also have their voice heard. 14-59563 17/17
