Study of the Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples
Summary
The Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples carried out the present
study on indigenous peoples’ rights in the context of borders, migration and displacement
in accordance with its mandate under Human Rights Council resolution 33/25.
The study concludes with Expert Mechanism advice No. 12 on the causes and
consequences of migration and displacement of indigenous peoples within the context of
States’ human rights obligations.
