The independence of India’s judiciary has encountered increasing challenges under the leadership of
Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The dismissal of judicial autonomy has sparked crucial concerns
regarding the separation of powers, transparency, and the rule of law in the largest democracy
globally. Given the current track record of the Bharatiya Janata Party Regime, it appears to lack the
political will to implement a comprehensive roadmap for the betterment of Indian Muslims. In the
pursuit of inclusivity, we must recognize the pivotal role of education, state funding tied to admission
criteria that consider the diversity of communities can be catalyst for change. Teachers training
programme that sensitize educators to the unique needs of marginalized communities. Efforts to
enhance infrastructure provisions are paramount, basic amenities such as school’s health facilities
and sanitation services should be accessible to all, regardless of their religious or their ethnic
background. By embracing these strategies, we can collectively build a nation where diversity is
celebrated, and every citizen, irrespective of their background, enjoys equal opportunities for growth
and prosperity. European Center for Sri Lankan Community, we thank you for the opportunity.
