Climate Change Adaptation Group—Klimat Förändra Anpassning Grupp
Dear fellows, I am here to raise only one point. That is the importance of having a high moral caliber
by which we can measure our actions. This noble characteristic will invalidate the accusation of the
UN of having double standards. Helping a person should always be deemed a good act, whereas
killing innocent children must be unacceptable in any circumstances, regardless of race, faith, or
ethnicity. Dear fellows, ignoring our principles and utilizing our moral compass selectively is a tragic
path with unthinkable consequences. If we see oppression, killing of innocents, and cruel sanctions,
we must condemn it promptly and effectively, regardless of the groups involved. Otherwise, we
leave the door open for a corrupt moral compass. Brutal sanctions against Iranian people, including
patients, have resulted in the deaths of many innocent civilians. Stopping such sanctions would have
reduced the chance of the atrocities we are witnessing today. The UN failed to stop inhuman
sanctions in Iran, and today, it is failing to stop the horrific war crimes and genocide committed by
Israel. Double standards are a [inaudible] characteristic, which has influenced the decisions made by
international organizations, including the UN. It must stop now. Otherwise, organizations like the UN
will lose their credibility. Until then, the responsibility is on those committing the crimes, those
supporting it, and those ignoring it. Thank you.
