Matters calling for action by the Economic and Social Council or brought to its attention Draft decisions recommended by the Permanent Forum for adoption by the Council 1. The Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues recommends to the Economic and Social Council the adoption of the following draft decisions: Draft decision I International expert group meeting on the theme “Indigenous Peoples in a greening economy” The Economic and Social Council decides to authorize a three-day international expert group meeting on the theme “Indigenous Peoples in a greening economy”. Draft decision II Venue and dates of the twenty-third session of the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues The Economic and Social Council decides that the twenty-third session of the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues shall be held at United Nations Headquarters from 15 to 26 April 2024. Draft decision III Report of the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues on its twenty-second session and provisional agenda of its twenty-third session The Economic and Social Council: (a) Takes note of the report of the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues on its twenty-second session; (b) Approves the provisional agenda of the twenty-third session of the Permanent Forum as set out below: 1. Election of officers. 2. Adoption of the agenda and organization of work. 3. Discussion on the theme “Enhancing Indigenous Peoples’ right to self-determination in the context of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples: emphasizing the voices of Indigenous youth”. 4. Discussion on the six mandated areas of the Permanent Forum (economic and social development, culture, environment, education, health and human rights), with reference to the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. 5.
