How to keep safe and help stay the minorities of Iraq after Daesh on their ancestral lands.
The Hijab Association of academic skills in cooperation or with the presence of several members of
the international Chaldean league began to reflect on the duty and future of minorities on all
Christians in Iraq and in the plains of Nineveh after liberation. At the Catholic University in Erbil /
Ankawa, on Thursday 22/09/2016, we organised workshop called ‘The future of the ethnic
components in the Nineveh Plains after liberation’ (Christian model).
This study began more than two years ago with various academic specialists from the Hidyab
Association. Most of Hidyab's members are university professors and top-level professionals living
and working in Iraq. So, they know the problems and how to solve them in this region. Around 100
academics and specialists from all religions in Iraq attended this event. Extensive interventions on the
subject were made as well as a draft with concrete practical recommendations of great importance
were adopted. If adopted or applied as early as possible it will be possible to bring solutions that
can be a solid foundation to rebuild this devastated region and fix its inhabitants displaced in a
general way.
After hearing, monitoring and participating in the lively discussions and deepening the themes of the
university workshop developed by university professors the participants agreed to make
recommendations. These taking into account the real situation in the region.
After considering the dimensions of the realities and the international legal, political and historical and
geographical and demographic humanitarian effort belonging to the Nineveh plains and the future of
its inhabitants, the participants came to an agreement on the necessary points to adopt and work to
ensure a prosperous and sustainable security of the future of the Christian component. Yazidis and

1- To accelerate the reconstruction of the towns and villages of the Ninevean plains from my
liberalization through military effort, it will be useful for the active forces of the minorities to be
present and actively participate in decision-making processes.
2- Ensure the safe return of our people (Chaldean Assyrian Syriac) and other minorities. It will be
necessary to connect the towns and Christian village of the plain of Nineveh. This is because they
are the indigenous peoples and this historic land of their ancestral homeland. And ensure that they
have "fundamental rights" in accordance with international agreements and legislation and the
constitution, so they can live, work and prosper in peace and with dignity. Any de facto
demographic change must be banned.
