T'hank you Madam Chair. I speak on behalf of the Endorois community from Kenya. Endorois Welfare Council in collaboration with Samorid Kenya and the minority rights international wishes to thank the African Commission on Human and People's Rights. For the landmark ruling adopted this year, in February, declaring that expulsion of the Endorois community from ancestral land to create a national reserve like Bogoria. A violation of their rights property amongst others, Madam Chair this culminated in the March 2010 celebration of the Endorois people with other civil societies to markthe end of ten years of legal struggle with the Kenyan government. Madam Cahir I bring a message of hope, during the celebration, the Lands Minister who was a chief guest promised on behalf of the Kenyan government to implement the ruling. During the 48th ordinary session of the African Commission on Human and Peoples Rights the government reaffirmed this. The community appreciate this and hopes that the Kenyan government will make good her plead soon. As part of the preparation implementing the ruling the Endorois have established Endorois Boundary Committee, Endorois Management Committee and Compensation Committee. In August this year Kenya adopted a new constitution which offes a specific protection to minorities and marginalised communities and we fell this is a good window of opportunity. As I conclude Madam Chair, we have to this third session of the UN forum on minorities on effective participation to seek support from this supreme body and other civil organisations around the world for us to turn the various positives signals from our Kenyan government into action. We also welcome paragraph 28 of the UN draft recommendations especially on displacement, resettlement or extractive industries and compensation and we recommend the Kenyan government to adopt it. Finally Madam Chair we strongly support the UN recommendation number 48 on the creation of voluntary fund for the minorities. Thank you.
