Declaration of the Colombian Delegation Forum on Minority Issues Theme 6 of the agenda (Examination of the future opportunities and initiatives for awareness-raising of the Declaration and measures to guarantee their application in practice) November 28 2012, Geneva, Switzerland Madame President, We are thankful for the opportunity to exchange ideas in this Forum and highlight the moderation carried out by the Madame President. Taking into account that Colombia supports the Declaration and its recommendations for the Colombian State, we wish to recommend: -Strengthening the interchange of experiences in the application of the Declaration, in regional areas, as a learning mechanism and a greater appropriation of best practices. -Stimulate the translation of the Declaration and the recommendations of the Forum to native and Creole languages and for the groups which conform the cultural diversity of the country. -Insist on the training of civil servants, so that they incorporate the guidelines of the Declaration and know in a systematic manner the lessons learned and best practices shared here. We take valuable learning experiences, which will surely improve Colombian policies and seek to protect the minorities of the nation. Thank you very much Madame President.
