KURDISH-SWISS ALLIANCE
Item 2: Review
Normative frameworks and the mainstreaming of the Declaration at the UN
Our organisation views progression and success on the following points to be essential in order to bring
about peace and security for minorities across the globe:
1. To provide educational and expert support to the relevant authorities on minority rights by
introducing periodic training and specialist workshops on minority rights.
2. To involve minority rights activists more actively than at present, and to expand their legal and
rights activities within United Nations organisations and congresses.
3. To accept minority representatives onto United Nations committees, with greater cooperation
between organisations representing minorities and members of United Nations committees.
4. Effective monitoring of the implementation of decisions resulting from United Nations conferences
on human rights, and the extent of their application by autocratic authorities.
5. The United Nations must accord greater significance to the issues and violations facing minorities.
Decisions should no longer be issued orally without monitoring and holding to account the despots
and criminals perpetrating these criminal acts.
6. To convene joint meetings between minorities and despotic governments, supervised by the
United Nations, and open discussions about human legal rights in collaboration between the
parties.
An example of the terrorism perpetrated against indigenous peoples, which you consider to be
minorities, is the situation of nearly 50 million Kurds and the daily violations against this people, across
its geographical locations, by the despotic regimes in Turkey, Iran, and Syria.
I believe that the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, adopted by the General Assembly on the 10th
December 1948, can only be applied by pursuing the states acting in contravention of this Declaration,
and that violate minority rights, by imposing sanctions on these states.
I thank you. Your success is our success, as well as the success of peace and humanitarianism.
