Each theme was presented by a set of panellists and discussions followed on the main issues and challenges which are to be tackled in addressing effectively racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance with regard to people of African descent. Overall, the panellists shared the same view concerning the difficulties in evaluating the extent of discrimination due to conceptual limitations and inadequacies in the collection of data.
