The Committee considered the combined third and fourth periodic reports of China (CRC/C/CHN/3-4 and Corr.1), including Hong Kong, China (CRC/C/CHN-HKG/2) and Macao, China (CRC/C/CHN-MAC/2), at its 1833rd–1835th meetings (see CRC/C/SR.1833–1835), held on 26 and 27 September 2013, and adopted at its 1845th meeting, held on 4 October 2013, the following concluding observations. I. Introduction 2. The Committee welcomes the submission of the combined third and fourth periodic reports of China, including Hong Kong, China and Macao, China, and the written replies to its list of issues (CRC/C/CHN/Q/3-4/Add.1, CRC/C/CHN-HKG/2/Add.1 and CRC/C/CHN-MAC/2/Add.1), which allowed for a better understanding of the situation of children’s rights in the State party. The Committee expresses appreciation for the constructive dialogue held with the State party’s multisectoral delegation. II. Follow-up measures taken and progress achieved by the State party 3. The Committee welcomes the adoption of the following legislative measures in mainland China: (a) The revisions of the Law of the People’s Republic of China on the Protection of Minors, in December 2006 and October 2012; (b) The revision of the Criminal Procedure Law in March 2012, which added a chapter on special criminal procedures for juvenile offenders; (c) 4. The adoption of the Law on Social Insurance, in October 2010. The Committee notes with appreciation the ratification of: (a) The Optional Protocol on the involvement of children in armed conflict, in (b) The Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, in August 2008. 2008; GE.13-47996
