Statelessness resulting from conflicts, forced population movements and migration affecting minorities: main challenges and possible solutions Report « Xenophobia as Russophobia and extremism of Ukrainian mass media аnd Statelessness resulting from conflicts » Доклад « Ксенофобия. как Руссофобия и экстремизм украинских СМИ и безгражданство в результате этого конфликта» Ladies and gentlemen. I am the head of the youth policy department of the international platform “Global rights of civilians” Anastasia Markhel. In Ukraine, the main xenophobia imposed on the people by the existing power is Russophobia, that is, hatred of everything connected with Russia. This is elevated to the rank of a worldview and becomes the cause of hostility on the basis of the national division of people. Ukrainian media and official media speakers of the Kiev regime often focus on the allegedly groundless accusations against today's Ukraine of discrimination against Russians and Russian speakers. According to their version, the propaganda of fascism and Nazism in Ukraine is nothing more than a fiction of Russian propaganda. However, the division of Ukrainian propaganda of people into “patriots” and “quilted jackets” is difficult to classify differently than the manifestation of an extreme form of chauvinism. Self-identification as Russian, loyal to Russia or to Russian culture, from the point of view of Ukrainian propagandists, is already a sign of a “second-rate” person. Such encouragement of xenophobia, extremism, chauvinism and Russophobia on the part of the Ukrainian authorities clearly indicates the state approval of this propaganda. Propaganda of hatred as a Russian civilization and a Russian, and with them to all dissidents justifies the mass extermination of the peaceful population of Donbass and requires ideological justification. Ukrainian media have become a solid platform for advertising neo-Nazi organizations, forming a cult of the “heroes” participating in them and attracting potential adherents. Thus, the propaganda of extremism, intolerance and Russophobia has become the main function of the majority of Ukrainian media controlled by the ruling oligarchs and the Ukrainian special services. And this invariably leads to migration and statelessness. I pass to the recommendations We recommend the UN to pay attention to the open xenophobia of the Ukrainian authorities, expressed in Russophobia and demand that they stop its propaganda in the Ukrainian media.
