I am an Associate Professor of Law at the University of Sussex. I teach mainly in the areas of Public Law and Human Rights, and my research to-date has focused primarily on European minority rights standards and their internalisation in domestic law. I have a particular interest and expertise in minority rights in post-conflict and deeply divided societies. This interest began during my doctoral research at Queen's University Belfast which commenced just after the signing of the Good Friday Peace Agreement (or Belfast Agreement) of 1998. My current research adopts more of an historical and longitudinal perspective on minority rights both as a concept and as a developing rights framework .
