ASEDIalge Thank you, Madam Chair. In Algeria, enshrining Amazigh as an official national language in the Constitution was a historic moment—a recognition of it as an integral part of our identity. However, recognition—an act of political and symbolic legitimization—is not enough; the language must be revitalized, and this requires action within the school system. Since 1995, Amazigh has been progressively introduced into education through teacher training, textbook production, and curriculum development. Yet, the transition from an ancestral oral tradition to a structured, pedagogical framework is complex. Despite the efforts made, further improvements are needed to generalize Amazigh instruction by strengthening the legal framework through an inclusive and participatory approach. Civil society plays a key role here; our organization has brought together four regional coalitions of local associations—mapped according to the concentration of Amazigh-speaking populations—to form a network of 80 organizations advocating for the organic law implementing Article 4 of the Constitution. Similarly, we have established a panel of women activists working for peace and diversity. Finally, the Algiers Book Fair has showcased a vast array of works, including a collective volume titled “Odyssey of the People of Algeria”. This book traces a millennia-long journey—etched in both rock and collective memory—of a people who have successfully assimilated diverse influences without ever losing the thread of their authenticity. This identity is shaped by an "Algerian-ness" that is united and unique, anchored in three pillars of identity and civilization: Amazigh heritage, Arab heritage, and Islamic heritage. Therein lies the dynamism of our diversity—the very foundation of our national unity. [CUT OFF BY CHAIR]. [CUT OFF BY CHAIR].
