Many minorities now live in Iraq, but some of these minorities do not have the minimum rights
and those are "Gypsies ".
Where Gypsies in Iraq considered from the forgotten Aquitaine that live in difficult living
conditions because of their customs and culture.
They suffer from racism and have not received education or municipal services since 2003 in
their villages, which are far from the city and surrounded by walls of dirt.
In addition, some of them were refused to be enlisted in army and police, and this goes so far
that sports clubs has expelled players belonging to the Gypsies minority. Here, I would like to
recommend that the Iraqi government and international organizations provide schools, health
services and employment opportunities to Gypsies and provide programs to reintegrate them
into Iraqi society.
Choose a day of the year and name it (World Minority Day) and aim at introducing minorities
and their culture across the world.
Thank you.
