Speaker: Thank you very much Mr. President. On this, the eve of the historic launch of the UN Permanent Forum of People of African Descent. We would like to speak to the rethinking of minority rights for women of African descent who happened to be farmers in the United States of America. We believe that there needs to be further redress to their specific plight relative to the historical inequities that are structured around historic racism and unfortunately the systematic loss of land and of resources that will speak into the risk, the very real risk of food insecurities at a very high stake. We would like to propose that in order to lift up the dignity and the uplifting of these women who are particularly in a subgroup of the black farmer community, need a particular targeted approach relative to the food production, land and resources. Therefore, we would like to submit a statement from black farmers of the U.S. that we have convened. Who would like to speak into the forum in a greater way and therefore we will abbreviate our comments so that those documents can be presented. Thank you Mr. President.
