Georgia remains committed to continuing its efforts to implement comprehensive anti-discrimination policies and programs. While my Government spares no effort to fulfill its obligations, the Government continues to be prevented from addressing the needs of local population residing in the occupied regions of Georgia who are deprived of minimal safeguards for their basic rights and freedoms. The freedom of movement, right to education and other civil, social, economic and cultural rights, ensured by fundamental principles of international law, are blatantly violated on a daily basis. In conclusion, Mr. Chair, let me once again stress my Governments commitment to further promote minority rights and in this regard continue engagement with the UN system. Thank you!
