She welcomes the legal framework in place to uphold equality and non-discrimination, and a range of positive measures taken to address racial discrimination. Nevertheless, despite such efforts, she received multiple reports of deeply entrenched and pervasive racial hierarchies within Austrian society and she remains concerned about manifestations of racial discrimination impacting marginalized racial and ethnic groups.
