A human rights approach focuses on holding governments, and other actors, accountable for their actions and by doing so promotes a more efficient use of resources (by promoting access to information and fighting corruption). Last, but not least, a human rights approach assists in empowering those living in poverty, particularly minorities, and making them visible.
