Report of the Special Rapporteur on contemporary forms of
racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance
Summary
In the present report, the Special Rapporteur on contemporary forms of racism,
racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance commemorates the
twentieth anniversary of the World Conference against Racism, Racial
Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance, held in Durban, South Africa.
The Special Rapporteur explains the significant human rights achievements of the
Conference and the continuing relevance and urgency of the full implementation of
the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action. She addresses the continuing
disinformation campaign that seeks to undermine the blueprint for action against
systemic racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance provided
in the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action and offers recommendations for
overcoming barriers to its implementation.
