Kurdocide-Watch on Item II
Good morning ladies and gentlemen. On the occasions of the 9th session of the Forum on
Minority Issues, I would like to say a few words all the Kurds are targets of all forms of
discrimination. Today, I would like to speak on behalf of all peoples, all religions, all persons or
ethnic groups are suffering discrimination throughout the world, because of their status as a
minority. Think, believe or doubt, speak or pray, whether together or stay on the side-lines –
these are the feeling f ethnic and religious minorities in countries where religious freedom
continues to be a sensitive question or even a taboo question; and in countries where [war
would sway]. Today as before, religious and ethnic diversity and peaceful co-existence of
minorities is been subjected to an increase of xenophobia, lack of understanding, mutual
rejection, wherever conflict break out with exponential intensity and the situation of minorities
is worsening everywhere in the world. Hundreds of thousand of children are deprived of
education; millions of displaced persons only have a limited access to medical care, they are
left in cold and winter even summer. Political crisis in conflicts in the Middle East today are the
main source of concern for the policy makers and others who are concerned about the
protection of minorities. Whereas, peoples rising in certain regions is welcomed, political
transition and conflicts are changing the religious and ethnic demographic map of the region.
We are witnessing a generalised [exiting] of minorities towards neighbouring countries and
even Europe is [possible]. It is an [inevitable] duty of the international community, NGOs and
governmental bodies and each and everyone of us to act and assist displaced persons life and
mental stability is in jeopardy. Above all a question of [protections] and preserving from daily
horrors they are suffering from and they need to combat terrorism and to re-establish order in
their country along with diversity, tolerance and the freedom to believe, think and pray. Thank
you.
