Mr. Kishore Singh - Senior Programme Specialist for the right to education,
UNESCO
Thank you madam Chairperson. Diverse range of issues in this discussion
which has taken place in this Forum and are also in yesterday’s thematic
debate indeed is very inspiring and we will fully draw upon it in our work,
our future work in the field of right to education. Particularly, in the
context of on-going concern for overcoming inequality and removing
disparity in education which encompass the main issues covered.
We are very happy to cooperate closely with Ms. McDougall independent
expert on minority issues as well as with the office of the high
commissioner and to work hand in hand in terms of following the
recommendations that we adopted.
It is indeed most increasing for us that Ms. Pillay the High Commissioner
for Human Rights yesterday in her address brought into limelight the high
importance of the right to education has been indispensible for the
exercise for all other human rights and we will particularly be now more
attentive in the context of our concern for more effective implementation
of UNESCO’s instruments in the field of education to take into account
various viewpoints [expressed]. Particularly as for instance [Erci Gas]
recommendation on adult education.
We are organising a form of life-long learning at the world conference next
year as also the follow-up on the World Declaration on the Higher
Education where the world conference in June in Paris will address among
other things the questions relating to access an equality in education. In
this I would like once more to express our deep thank and gratuity. Thank
you very much.
