(represented by counsel, Niels-Erik Hansen) Alleged victim: The author State party: Denmark Date of communication: 11 April 2013 (initial submission) The Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women , established under article 17 of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, Meeting on 19 November 2015, Adopts the following: Views under article 7 (3) of the Optional Protocol 1.1 The author of the communication is A., a Pakistani national born in 1983. She claims to be a victim of a violation by Denmark of her rights under articles 1, 2 (c) and (d), 3, 12, 15 and 16 of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women. The author is represented by counsel. The Convention and the Optional Protocol thereto entered into force for Denmark on 21 May 1983 and 22 December 2000, respectively. 1.2 On 8 January 2014, the State party was informed that the Committ ee, acting through its Working Group on Communications under the Optional Protocol, had decided to examine the admissibility of the communication together with the merits. Facts as submitted by the author 2.1 The author is an illiterate woman from the Christian minority in Punjab who was raised in a village in Pakistan, where she lived until she married her husband, a Pakistani with a Danish permanent residence permit. The author and her husband have two children, born in 2009 and 2011. They met when he r husband visited Pakistan in 2007.
