Speaker: Dear ladies and gentlemen. In order to make some complimentary remarks on the
United Nations declaration on the rights of persons belonging to national or ethnic, religious
or linguistic minorities and based on my personal experiences as a practitioner of education
of ethnic minorities I strongly recommend the following. First, we should boost the education
of ethnic minority areas, so as to construct a complete and comprehensive allocation system
covering pre-school education, basic education, vocational and technical education,
[inaudible] education and higher education. Secondly, we should improve support and
assistance of education in less developed ethnic minority areas. Especially in terms of
physical talents, science and technology and professional policy support from the central
government and the more developed areas. Certainly, more attention should be paid to the
ethnic minority students. The schools should provide more opportunities and come up with
special [inaudible] to help ethnic minorities to develop themselves. Including offering
[inaudible] paired up with assistance between professional teachers and ethnic minority
students. And forming peer assistance and study groups evolving all students from different
ethnic groups and so on. Here above are my experiences and suggestions to share as a
teacher working in Minzu University dedicated to ethnic minority education. Thank you very
much.
