Mister President,
Honourable attendance,
Aza-Rouge Solidaire provides assistance and protection to vulnerable
people and meets the needs of endangered populations. It generally
operates worldwide (as was the case in Ukraine recently) and in Kabylie
more particularly, to mitigate the absence of the official State.
The native Kabyle people, in the midst of the deafening silence from the
media and international organisations, are suffering fierce repression,
arrests, torture, rapes, death penalties, genocide attempts, forest fires,
ecocides, dispossession of natural resources by the dictatorial Algerian
regime etc.
Our humanitarian organisation leads a noble, and often difficult, mission
because the native Kabyle people, without a government, are being
repressed by the Algerian State when it should be helping them, being
killed by it when it should be caring for them and being imprisoned by it
when it should be liberating them. Yet, humanitarian aid is a source of
survival for the marginalised native people.
Today, all members of the Stop Covid committee from our section in
Kabylia are being arrested, imprisoned, tortured and raped by this regime.
Being concerned about the rights of minorities, their organisations and their
subordinations is no longer enough. It is also important to pay attention to the
tyranny from the majority which acts with complete impunity with laws made
to repress the claims of injustice from the native minority victims because they
are the minority
Question: Do these minorities or individuals have the right to disobey?
One of the recommendations one could suggest would be to think about
being equipped with universal justice which would soar above the
tyrannical laws implemented by the majority.
