The purpose of her visit was to assess, in a spirit of cooperation and dialogue, both the achievements of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the challenges remaining in the implementation of cultural rights, understood as rights of all persons to express their identities and to have access to, participate in, and contribute to cultural life in all its aspects, without hindrance or fear. The Special Rapporteur addressed a number of key issues relating to cultural rights, focusing on access to cultural heritage, the writing and teaching of history, memorialization processes, particularly through memorials and monuments, and the measures taken to ensure the free interaction of people, irrespective of background and status, through education, culture and the arts, sports and science. * ** Late submission.
