III. Protection of the existence of and prevention of violence against religious
minorities

Madame Chair, thank you for giving me the opportunity to speak.
My name is (…) and I am speaking on behalf of the Muslim community (…) minority who was (…)
from other parts of Sri-Lanka in 1990. One of the most present concerns for the committee regarding
numbers 51, 52 and 53 of the draft recommendation (…) in Sri-Lanka, in a short period of time, in
October 1990. Within the context of the 26 years of conflict in Sri-Lanka, the expulsion of these people
by (…) one of the major human rights violation and at the year of the resolution remains one of the key
post-conflict challenges.
The Muslim committees met with (…) human rights due to the (…) has been possible for internal
displaced people since 2009. The issue of another Muslim committee has remained unresolved. (…) of
the committee must ensure the help, access to resources, land, employment, housing, (…) and the
protection of their rights in all aspects. While building reconciliation and trust among the (…) in
Sri-Lanka. (…) projects has (…) can be achieved through a processual commission on the issues of
possible eviction (…) of other Muslim displaced.
We also corroborate that the recommendation (…) reconciliation commission it was created by (…)
can be achieved through the creation of a uniform straight policy (…)
We would like the UN, development agencies, Muslim diaspora and other Muslim organisations to (…)
the problem of a possible Muslim committee and make a contribution on this process. We also
welcome a minimal conversion of the international committee defeat the communal sense and the (…)
build-up of national harmony among (…) In Sri-Lanka. Finally, we would like draft recommendation
51, 52, and 53 to better reflect the experience of a possible ex-committee (…) to conflict.
