Reiterating, what has already been expressed by the Commission on Human Rights, in the 34th
periodic review of the Working Group, november 2019, as Councillor of the Municipality of
Trieste, I am deeply concerned about the total lack of establishing an independent human rights
body, despite the fact that numerous international bodies have called on Italy for it, being of
fundamental importance on the basis of the Paris Convention.
As elected councillor I ask this Forum, to urge the State party, as soon as possible, to establish the
independent body in order to review what has been disregarded and unrecognised to date in the Free
Territory of Trieste.

Trieste, we consider it necessary and appropriate to send an international commission to verify what
we have both denounced, in order to remedy the claims presented.
Distinguished President, Distinguished Members,
I thank you for the space provided and I look forward to further discussions.
