Speaker: Thank you Chair. Indonesia in its constitution guarantees the freedom of every inhabitant to embrace their respective religion and to worship. And also guarantees that every person is entitled to be free from discriminative treatment on whatsoever basis. However, what happened until now is that many Indonesian citizens, who are members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community in several areas, still face discrimination and even persecution and difficulties building mosques and worshiping in mosques. This is due to the existence of prejudice and slander against Ahmadiyya and also discriminatory regulation at the national and regional levels. In the national level there is the [inaudible] decree concerning Ahmadiyya [inaudible] in 2008, which is the reference for the issuance for 47 discriminatory regulations at the regional level. In May 2021, there was a case of [inaudible] the construction [inaudible] Mosque. In September 2021, the mosque was attacked at [inaudible]. In 2021, and early 2022, the [inaudible] government issued 8 discriminatory regulations. We urge the government to revoke the [inaudible] decree and the discriminatory regulations at the regional level. And to do its obligation to respect, to protect, and to further [inaudible]. Especially the right to freedom of religion and belief. I thank you.
