Bureau of Human Rights and Justice (BHRJ) Thank you Madame. On behalf of the Bureau of Human Rights and Justice, my thanks to our honorable Chair and respected delegates. Since Bangladesh independence in 1971, the minority Hindu, Buddhist, Christian, and indigenous communities have been subjected state and social discrimination. The process of social and ethnic cleansing of minorities is underway. But, in the last one year, the situation has undergone a shift. Now, I am going to present a report of atrocities on atrocities against minorities during the time from August 2024 to October 2025. During that time, more than 154 minority people were killed. More than 1,655 minority people were injured during the attacks by military and extremist groups in Bangladesh. At least 135 Hindu and Buddhist people were disappeared and kidnapped. At least 197 minority girls were raped. More than 50 minority girls were forcefully converted to Islam. More than 1,305 homes of minorities were vandalized and attacked by extremist groups. 3,355 temples, pagodas, and churches were vandalized and attacked. In Bangladesh, the minorities have no rights of freedom of expression. The innocent [inaudible] monk [inaudible] has been detained in prison for one year without any charges [CUT OFF BY CHAIR].
