Türkiye Madame Chair, the Turkish constitutional system is based on the equality of all individuals without discrimination. Article 10 of the Constitution guarantees equality before the law, irrespective of language, race, color, sex, political opinion, philosophical belief, religion and sect or any such grounds. Turkish citizens belonging to non-Muslim minorities have the same rights as the rest of the population. In addition, they benefit from their minority status in accordance with the Lausanne Peace Treaty. Non-Muslim minorities have their own schools, places of worship, foundations, hospitals, and media organizations. We continue our further efforts towards an inclusive society where every citizen is an integral part of our society. We recognize that our differences are a source of richness. In addition, to the legislation in place, hatred toward any group is never tolerated, and this point is emphasized at the highest political level. Any individual act by real or legal persons is immediately investigated and perpetrators are brought to justice. Madame Chair, starting from the beginning of the conflict in Syria, Türkiye played a key role in the protection of Syrian civilians and minorities against the attacks and violations of the terrorist groups. Türkiye not only opened its doors and became a safe haven for millions of Syrians, including minorities in the country, but also provided protection for the people of the region through three counter-terrorism operation in Syria.
