A/HRC/16/29 XII. OHCHR Booklet on the Declaration on the Rights of Persons Belonging to National or Ethnic, Religious and Linguistic Minorities (2010) 55. OHCHR has produced a booklet on the Declaration in an effort to raise awareness about the existence and the contents of its provisions. It puts forward a simplified and userfriendly presentation of the Declaration’s provisions. The objective is to encourage United Nations officials, representatives of Governments, national human rights institutions, civil society, and other actors worldwide to use it to support their efforts in defending the rights of minorities. The Declaration offers guidance on the promotion and protection of the rights of minorities and is a valuable tool for the interpretation and implementation of these rights. 14
