The Committee considered the combined third and fourth reports of Nigeria (CRC/C/NGA/CO/3-4) at it 1505th and 1507th meetings (CRC/C/SR.1505 and 1507), held on 26 May 2010, and adopted at its 1541st meeting, held on 11 June 2010, the following concluding observations. A. Introduction 2. The Committee welcomes the third and fourth consolidated report of the State party as well as the written replies to its list of issues (CRC/C/NGA/Q/3-4/Add.1) and commends the State party on the frank and self-critical nature of the report. The Committee appreciates the presence of a high-level delegation, led by the Minister of Women’s Affairs and Social Development, and the constructive dialogue. B. Follow-up measures undertaken and progress achieved by the State party 3. The Committee welcomes the positive developments related to the implementation of the Convention, such as: (a) The adoption of legislation enacting the Child Rights Act (CRA) (2003) in 24 states of the federation; (b) The Trafficking in Persons (Prohibition) Law Enforcement and Administration (Amendment) Act of 2005; (c) The adoption of policies and strategies aiming at strengthening the implementation of the Convention, including: (i) The National Plan of Action on CRC/CRA (2009-2015) of 2008; (ii) The National Action Plan for the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights in Nigeria (2009-2013) (iii) The National Child Policy and National Child Health Policy of 2007; (iv) The National Plan of Action on Orphans and Vulnerable Children (20062010) of 2007; GE.10-43192
