Forum on Minorities - preventing and respond to violence and the terrible crimes against minorities Date-25-26 / November 2014 Oral intervention Item 4 of the agenda Arabic Intervention by All Youth Network for Community Development in Yemen Thank you very much, Sir President, for allowing me the intervention, I am Sami Al-Naggar, representative of All Youth Network for Community Development and a member of the marginalized community in Yemen Marginalized groups in Yemen or the so-called "Akhdam" are an ethnic group with skin black origins dating of the Ethiopian assets that invaded Yemen dwells most of them in huts of the remnants of waste tin and cardboard, tires where calling congregations word "Mahoa" and the word "Mahoa " means are linguistically position of dogs, they are building mostly near the floodplain on the outskirts of major cities, including the "Sana'a, Aden, Taiz and others.". Violence on a daily basis against the marginalized is a daily reality diffuse scary There has been violence against marginalized and very scary where marginalized suffered during the recent period to many of violence such as murder and the rapes and collective displacement by armed tribes and influential in the government and other members of the society. All of this is due to the absence of face punishment for these violations and the lack of representation of the marginalized in the political and civic life in Yemen. The marginalization and exclusion that suffer from it is the marginalization of social, cultural, legal and that the biggest danger to the marginalized because law enforcement personnel are also violated. The absence of prosecution of perpetrators of these crimes or hold them accountable in ensuring lead to the impossibility for the collection and protection of the rights of the marginalized and protect them from any violence practiced against them by the society and the government together. The best practice obtained by the marginalized 1400 years ago is after the youth revolution and the Arab Spring got where he participated marginalized, got a positive development is that the marginalized got a seat for one person in the national dialogue and this is what we consider to be achievement a revolutionary being marginalized and deprived of basic human rights, but considers this step positive even if they are simple but adequate and give us a sense of hope, so we call on the government to taking more effective measures to protect the marginalized. Also do not forget the role of young people who have played an active role in the representation of marginalized issues at the national level during the blessed revolution, so you should support young people and protect them from any attacks, especially marginalized youth and women. Recommendations: 1. Passing laws provide protection marginalized from any violence and was working on the representation of the marginalized.
