Romanipe-Canada Thank you. My name is Tafina Savich(?), representative of Romanipe, a non-for-profit organization based in Montreal, Canada, seeking to address the ongoing human rights abuses faced by Romani communities across the world, including in Canada. Roma continues to be one of the most persecuted group of people in Europe. Among one of the issues that Roma continue to face is the issues of lack of access to education for reasons, often of racism, exclusion, and in many many countries such as, uh, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, we see that Roma continue to be disproportionately placed in segregated schools despite proper testing being carried, so our recommendation is to stop the segregation of Romani children in those schools, and to give Romani children equal access to education in those countries, so that in the long run, there could be an empowerment of Roma youth.
